About Us
The Backyard Birder Nature Gift Shop is a family owned, independent business in Northern Ontario. In 1997, sisters Monique and Danielle started with a small store and as business grew, they expanded to finally settle at 2041 Long Lake Rd in Sudbury's south end. This Shop is not just for the birds, the sister's love for the outdoors and gardening is reflected with the large selection of outdoor decor and garden accessories. They provide a wide variety of products to help homeowners create their own private sanctuaries.
The Backyard Birder Nature Gift Shop is truly a family owned business. The sisters' father, Jean-Paul is always busy making bird houses and feeders. Monique's husband, Tapio can often be found in the store sharing his wide knowledge of birds with customers. Monique and Tapio's two daughters, Ericka and Ashley, as well as Danielle's two boys, Matthew and Jonathan, eagerly help out during busy times.
